Trinity’s Fleet Prepared for Winter

Leader's resting place for the winterWith the 2013 season now finished, Trinity’s three vessels are being prepared for their winter refit.

Crew members from all of the boats have been stripping out all of the interiors and components, as well as de-rigging all ropes and spars.

Leader has now been moved in to Brixham’s inner harbour, and placed under a cover to protect her from the winter elements.

Provident remains at the town’s heritage pontoon but will soon be joining Leader for the winter, near the old fish market.

Golden Vanity will be placed on a mooring during the winter, before the crew return in early 2014 to begin varnishing work on all three of Trinity’s boats.

The full refit will get underway in late January, where the vessels undergo full systems serving, paint and varnishing throughout as well as upgrades and larger repairs. It is also Leaders turn for the slipway this year for a fresh coat of paint and servicing of her underwater components.

In April they should be gleaming ready for the full season ahead.
