Although historically Trinity has worked with disadvantaged young people, in recent year we have expanded our sail training programme to help ex-members of our armed forces, achieving similar results by following our core principles.
We have helped retired marines with a range of needs — from amputations to post-traumatic stress disorders — regain their confidence and overcome both physical and mental barriers to help make the adjustment back to civilian life.
Our crew work closely with organisations to assess individual needs, on a case by case basis, to work toward specifically tailored outcomes.
In 2018 we worked with veterans’ charity 65 Degrees North on a very successful programme, which you can read more about here.
Jonathan Thomson, 65 Degrees North
“It can’t be easy to deal with different groups week-on-week, but they made us welcome and listened to our endless questions with great patience. Our Team were willing to work hard, take orders and just get on with it. The common military background of the Team will have inured all to different degrees of hardship or discomfort. Mix that lot together and, with good leadership you will get a good result.”
