Meet the Team — Trinity Sailing 2018 (Lisa)
In the final days running up to the 2018 season getting underway we will be introducing the current Trinity Sailing Foundation team. Today we caught up with another member our sea staff — Lisa McDowell…
What is your role at Trinity Sailing?
I am Leader’s Bosun/Deck Hand.
How long have your worked for Trinity?
This is my first season, I am new and came down to help with the winter refit and I was invited to stay which is great.
What did you do prior to joining the team?
I finished school last summer and have been sailing on various boats ever since then. What I really wanted to get involved with is the charity-side of the industry.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I look forward to being able to introduce other people to the joys of sailing, taking them out of their comfort zones and placing them in an entirely new environment and seeing them thrive from the experience.
Where is your favourite sailing destination?
So many places to choose from, many of Trinity’s will be new to me and I can’t wait to get out there and see them. Georgian Bay, Lake Huron, in Canada has been my favourite place to see so far in my sailing career.
When you’re not sailing, what else do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy messing around with computers, playing tabletop role-playing games — particularly Dungeons & Dragons — plus freerunning Parkour.
