Over the past couple of months there has been lots going on at Trinity with the winter refit of Golden Vanity.
‘Vanity’ was taken out of the water in early December and our Operations Team, Golden Vanity Trust members and volunteers have been flat out stripping back years of old paint and, working with shipwrights, the whole hull has now been re-caulked protecting the vessel for many years to come.
There have been various other works such as replacing several deck planks, removing and servicing the heads as well as lots of other general maintenance.
Over the next week or so, Golden Vanity will get a new coat of paint – involving two coats of undercoat and then faired before the final top Gloss coat. She will soon be looking her very best for the start of the 2013 season!
There’s lots of important jobs to the vessels planned over the next three months – if you want to lend a hand and learn a few of the skills that goes into looking after these heritage vessels (and have a great time of course!) then give Nick or Matt a call in the Office.
