Sailing season springs into action… Posted on

Clients enjoy Easter under sail on ‘Provi’…

Provident headed out last week for her first voyages of the 2014 season – a three night trip exploring the South Devon coast. Provi and crew visited the seaside towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe and our clients reported a great time sailing the south Devon coast.

“Everything excellent 5*”, Elliott.Provi Easter sailing

Most memorable moment: “Seeing waves break over the bowsprit”, Mark.

“Food and staff spot on..couldn’t be better”, Sarah & Andrew.

Andy Wakefield, a Derbyshire based feature writer said after the voyage: “Wow – we have had an absolutely amazing adventure     aboard Provident and met some fantastic people. A wonderful crew, scrumptious meals and spectacular scenery – it’s been an honour  and a privilege.

From a confirmed land-lubber with no particular desire to experience life at sea, a few days aboard Provident changed my perspective completely. We will certainly be looking at a return visit soon.”

Thanks to Sarah for the photos and we hope to see all our clients again soon.

Darthaven Marina supports Tall Ships Challenge Posted on

Trinity are delighted to welcome Darthaven Marina as a Tall Ships Challenge sponsor.

The aim of the Tall Ships Challenge is to provide 12 deserving young people with a life changing voyage which is being made possible by the generous support of local businesses, the latest of which is the Kingswear-based Darthaven Marina.

Melanie Holman, the Manager of Darthaven Marina, said:

“We are very pleased to be supporting a young person from the area. This will be a wonderful opportunity for this person to get experience of being at sea, especially on such a splendid boat as Leader.

The Holman family have had an interest in Brixham for many years as they owned the Upham’s yard from the 1950’s until the 1990’s. The yard carried out repairs to local wooden craft, built some trawlers and then yachts designed by Kim Holman such as the famous Twister.

It is so important to keep the younger generation interested in sailing and we are happy to help.”

If you would like to find out more about how your business can sponsor a local young person at the 2014 International Tall Ships Races please speak to Toby or Harry on 01803 883355.
