Trinity will be heading the first of a new six-part series titled Ade at Sea next Thursday (March 20) at 8.30pm.
Television presenter and comedian Adrian Edmondson spent a sunny day filming on Trinity’s 1892-built vessel Leader last summer. The star of The Young Ones, and Bottom, sailed about six miles out from the Torbay coastline with Trinity’s crew and operation’s manager Matt Gilchrist.
Matt said: “It was a nice day for it and everyone seemed to have a good time at sea. Ade was a nice guy and took a real interest in the history of the vessels, as did his film crew.”
The show was originally set to go out on Thursday, March 27, but the producers have brought the episode forward a week.
Simon Paintin, Ade at Sea’s producer, said: “It was a pleasure to work with the Trinity Sailing Foundation.
“We filmed our presenter learning the ropes at sea and experiencing the wonderful work Trinity are doing, supporting the development of young people and keeping the heritage of the old Brixham trawlers alive.
“The whole Trinity team were so accommodating, organised and helpful. I don’t think you could find a more passionate, enthusiastic and friendly group of people.”
Adrian is married to fellow comedian Jennifer Saunders and he recently won the eighth series of Celebrity MasterChef.
