In the final days running up to the 2018 season getting underway we will be introducing the current Trinity Sailing Foundation team. Today we caught up with another member our sea staff — Jo Coomber…
What is your role at Trinity Sailing?
I will be sailing as Mate on Provident.
How long have your worked for Trinity?
This is my first year working here full-time. For the past couple of years I have been working as relief Bosun and Deckhand over the summer, while at uni. Before that, I came on board a couple of times as a sail training trainee.
What did you do prior to joining the team?
I was at university doing a degree in Oceanography.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love being able to sail these awesome boats, and getting to go out to sea with lots of different people.
Where is your favourite sailing destination?
So far, my favourite places have been on the West Coast of Scotland and I loved sailing around Norway, which I did on Leader during the Tall Ships Races.
When you’re not sailing, what else do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy basically anything outdoorsy, alongside reading and taking time to catch-up with friends.
