In the final days running up to the 2018 season getting underway we will be introducing the current Trinity Sailing Foundation team. Today we caught up with another member our office staff — Harry Gottschalk…
What is your role at Trinity Sailing?
I am Trinity’s Marketing & Sales Manager
How long have your worked for Trinity?
This will be my sixth season working here, it doesn’t seem anywhere near that long though.
What did you do prior to joining the team?
I was a journalist, based in the West Midlands, and one day decided I’d had enough of Birmingham and wanted to escape to the seaside.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the challenge of making sure that these historic vessels are kept busy throughout the season. Now I have been here a while I have got to know many of our adult clients and it’s great sharing their enthusiasm for the boats. Above all I also enjoy seeing the positive changes in the young people who join us for a week at sea.
Where is your favourite sailing destination?
I did the West Coast of Scotland on Leader, last year, which was just incredible – Fingal’s Cave and Rhum being the highlights. This year I will be sailing to Brittany for the first time, on Provident, and I can’t wait.
When you’re not sailing, what else do you enjoy doing?
I very rarely go sailing, but when I’m not at work I love going to gigs, playing the guitar and exploring Devon.
